Notice of Funding Availability No. 2016-01 -- April 15, 2016
The Conservancy is soliciting concept proposals for the next round Proposition 1 grant program. These grants are available to fund water quality and supply, watershed restoration & habitat enhancement projects. For concept proposal click here.
Eligible applicants include state and local public entities, nonprofit organizations, Indian tribes and mutual water companies. Any project that fulfils one or more of the objectives of Proposition 1 is eligible for consideration.
Applicants must submit a concept proposal no later than 5 pm on July 8, 2016, before being invited to submit a full application. We strongly encourage applicants to contact the Conservancy for consultation before submitting a concept proposal to address environmental review, permit requirements, jurisdictional approval and requirements of Division 26.7 of the Water Code, Chapter 6, Section 79734 requires that: “For restoration and ecosystem protection projects funded pursuant to this chapter, the services of the California Conservation Corps or a local conservation corps certified by the California Conservation Corps shall be used whenever feasible.” Round 2 grant applications are due to the San Diego River Conservancy on September 15, 2016.
Over the next several years, the Conservancy will offer competitive grant rounds tentatively scheduled for the following fiscal years 2016/2017, 2018/2019, 2020/2021.
