MEMORANDUM FOR: POTENTIAL APPLICANTS
SUBJECT: NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY (NOFA) – SAN DIEGO RIVER CONSERVANCY
The San Diego River Conservancy (“Conservancy”) is pleased to announce additional funding of approximately $6.5 million for the Conservancy’s Wildfire and Forest Resilience Grant Program (“Grant Program”). The funding was approved through the Budget Act of 2021-22 for local assistance projects. These monies will be used to fully fund projects with existing grant agreements previously awarded through the Grant Program. Funds will be used to restore the ecological functions of forests and watersheds, remove flammable fuel loads, maintain fuel breaks around vulnerable communities, promote fire prevention through training, equipment and vehicles, and improve defensible space to mitigate risk against wildfires.
Projects must meet at least one of the goals of California’s Wildfire and Forest Resilience Action Plan.
Eligible applicants include:
- Public Agencies
- Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status
- Federally-Recognized Indian Tribes or Tribes on the list maintained by the Native American Heritage Commission
